Multi-trashmail accounts

Post by Niels » 31 Oct 2006, 20:48

On my private e-mailaddress I have about 10 different trashmail accounts. Maybe if it is possible to bring them all together on one trashmail account. So, you can modify accounts based on your private e-mailaddress.

Also with the add-on in Firefox ofcourse. Thanks

Another reason for being able to see my list of trashmail accounts:

My computer crashed and I lost the list of my trashmail accounts and passwords. Currently, "Lost Password" requires you to enter "Your TrashMail E-mail address" [which I don't have now :( ]

Would it be possible to add an option to supply my "real email address" instead of "TrashMail E-mail address" and get a list of my TrashMail addresses and their paswords?

(Or is there any other current way to get it?)

Hi,
this is correct, I need also to add this.
Please send me privately your real email address, and I will send you a list of TrashMail account names.

Few points of view...

There are good and bad issues, that's why service should support several "operating modes".

A) Another view:

A1) I hate services that require registering or login

A2) I hate services that endanger privacy (A makes it worse)

B) And then the another:

B1) It's good to see all the addresses that you have used. I like this feature with http://www.spamgourmet.com because I can list addresses that I have used.

B2) Its easy to manage addresses, extend life time, add more messages etc.

B3) With whitelisting feature you can manage groups of domains etc. Or even view lists of email addresses that you have been mailing with because those are stored anyway.

Summarum:

Paranoid with tinfoilhat wouldnt like B feature at all. But legimate user having lot of addresses and no bookkeeping would really love A. Let's say that I have forgotten my password to SITE. Then I start thinking ok, my username was Z... But login requires email address and password. Uups. I don't even remember which email address I used when I registered to this site. I could dig it out from B type service.

Also combining features from A and B it's quite handy to have spamgourmet styled address creation. Because user doesn't need to access site to create new address. It's simply created by using it. But it naturally requires first B mode for setting all the stuff up for nice and smooth operation without logging in.

That's about it for today. ;)
