Maybe with CAPTCHA (with long white list), without that it really doesn't matter because it's just easier to create new one.

Exactly. I have over 690 entries in my whitelist. I don't want to loss them. I would too add an import/export function for this.

Yes, sounds like better option than renaming option. Becase you you can import pre-existing list or grap current list for server. For other services and for other purposes, if required.
