Soon: Domain names will no more act as aliases

We are currently testing at our beta website http://beta.trashmail.net a new version of TrashMail.net.
Usernames are now dependent on domain names. This means that domain names will soon no more act as aliases.

So it would be possible to create for example multiple times the same username with different domain names like.

Example:
[email protected]
[email protected]

would be two completely separated accounts.

You can already test our new service at http://beta.trashmail.net/.

Be careful: beta.trashmail.net should only be used for testing. The beta site could be shutdown, deleted at any time.

What will happen to our existing multi-aliased accounts?

Good point: I forgot to tell you:
We have currently 6 domain names at all:
@trashmail.net
@trashmail.me
@trashmail.at
@trash-mail.at
@rcpt.at
@kurzepost.de

I will clone all trashmail accounts for the 6 different domain names. This means that the number of the current accounts will be multiplied by factor of 6.
So when you will get your status emails about your existing trashmail accounts, there will be written 6 times more accounts on it.

Akward.
Hopefully a central control panel for all generated emails, with full statistics etc, that will help us clean up the mess, is coming soon too...

There is unfortunately only the option: "Send status now to [email protected]"

This option will send an email with all addresses to your real email address.

Yes, it's where the "awkward" was going for... :)

Hmm I think (I hope) most customers could live with that.
I admit that if you own currently 100 trashmail addresses, you will soon have 600 addresses at all to manage...

600 addresses, so what. Those are going to expire eventually anyway.

At least I'm not bothered with that.

And when custom domain feature comes. I think I'll use my own custom domain for all "important" addresses.

So it's quite clear if address is temporary or ment to be permanent.

You use the free plan?

I will soon update first the Mozilla Firefox Add-On.
Currently the Add-On would no more be compatible with the future version of TrashMail.net. I will update it that it would be compatible with the current and future version.
Before this update would have be done, TrashMail.net will not be migrated to its new version.

Nope. But I have been using strictly one domain. So I can let additional addresses that I don't need to die or I can even expire those manually.

Usually if I know that I don't need permanent address I use 6 months accounts. Because then I don't need to care about deleting those.

Only very few accoutns use unlimited time.

Good to know.

Me on the other hand, tried to use the default domain and when it was rejected (I knew it only after I've created it), I was editing the input to use another one until I find something that isn't blocked.
99% of my generated addresses are lifetime and active (I receive newsletters on them occasionally, etc).

I am glad to see that we will get an updated Firefox add-on as I use it all the time.

After the update for the customer the Add-On will have for the moment its default behaviour. But technically it would send for each request the domain name, if the address would be [email protected], it would send the complete email address instead only 123.
Once all customers updated their Firefox Add-On, I could update to the new TrashMail.net version which have already been tested on http://beta.trashmail.net (is currently offline).
