I just want to inform users, that using Trashmail.net forum as secure email is funny but working idea.
Because trashmail's forum is SSL protected. You can use PM feature to transmit trusted messages if you just trust the adminitrator.
With traditional email there are so many security issues. It's just like sending post cards.
And if this thought play wasn't enough for you. And you really would love to get proper privacy don't forget to check out GnuPG.
This forum is using AES-256 high grade encryption.
SSL secured encrypted messaging (thought play)
Re: SSL secured encrypted messaging (thought play)
Exactly, you can use forums internal messaging system by using GnuPG, and you have a full secure messaging system.Z wrote:I just want to inform users, that using Trashmail.net forum as secure email is funny but working idea.

Additionally you can use TOR as client and a good GnuPG Firefox Add-On for this.
What do you think about putting a forum as a hidden TOR service? (.onion domain name)

Re: SSL secured encrypted messaging (thought play)
Actually there has been discussion about TOR being unsafe. But that only is problem with UNSECURE web-services. Then exit node can snoop traffic between itself and destination server.Admin wrote:Additionally you can use TOR as client and a good GnuPG Firefox Add-On for this.

But it really doesn't matter, because trashmail.net is using SSL. As every website should be which contain any non-public or personal / private data. If exit node tries to spoof service using fake server they'll get problem with SSL sertificate.
