Re: Email Spam Statistics - Why is Trashmail so important!

I get about 500 spams / week my email box. ;)

That's quite nice quantity. 2000 spams / month and 24000 / year.

Funniest thing is that I barely get only one VALID message per month to that address. So signal / noise ratio is very low.

Email Spam Statistics - Why is Trashmail so important!

http://googleenterprise.blogspot.com/20 ... -spam.html

Check that out! It's incredible!

Average user receives 45000 spams / year. 194 spams / day. Oh no! That's just the reason why TrashMail is so very important service.

- Thank you!

Re: duplicate user accounts?

There is only a low possibility to get a new trashmail name which existed already before. Don't bullshit me... ;) Because people use addresses like that toto which I mentioned, it's not so unlikely. It's very unlikely if you use random+something but if you only use something part, then it's quite c...

Re: duplicate user accounts?

has anyone encountered a situation where someone else is using the same email address? in otherwords you are receiving their emails as well as your own? I have also seen a lot of emails providing order status....emails that were never originated from me It's natural. If you use "stupid" addresses. ...

Re: File attachments support implemented

Err, doesn't seem to be working. Attachment is left out. Also when I send mail with "copy to original location" also that copy is sent to original recipient.

If you can't reproduce these problems I can give more trough description.

Re: HELP - Someone is using my real email to setup Trashmails!

That was rather scary though, and I'm now wondering if that could be a problem in the future - anyone could setup TrashMail and forward it to a user's address without any possible intervention with the exception of deleting the accounts as they were made. That could lead to some serious abuse. Is t...

Re: Incident: Some forwarding addresses temporary deleted

Due to a software bug after migration of a new trashmail core version, some forwarding email addresses have been automatically deleted. Only Plus customers are concerned by this software problem. I recovered them with standard settings but with the option that they are set to unlimited forwarding a...

Re: TrashMail Plus now available

I want to register however both clicktobuy and Paypal really sucks. I don't want some random homepage to remember my private credit card information. Afaik you can do that with Paypal, as I have done always when I have used Paypal. But I haven't used it for a few years. Maybe they have changed thei...

Re: TrashMail Plus now available

After 9,99 EUR seems to be too expensive, I decreased the price from 9,99 EUR to 0,99 EUR. I hope this price would be fair for everyone. The customers who paid 9,99 EUR can get back the difference (9 EUR). It's not about money. It seems that ClickAndBuy isn't one of the best services. They have rid...

Re: Spam really increased

When you delete a trashmail account, you need first to delete it on the real database, then later on the cache server. Is this correct? Yes. But as I mentioned. But it depends from situation if it's required at all. Dying accounts are such a small part of overall accounts that I don't know if it's ...

Re: Spam really increased

Its a nice idea to use cached servers. It must be guaranteed that the cache servers are synchronized. With proper caching and B-tree you can also run this process with 16 threads with 8 cores. And all threads run with almos full speed. I don't agree with ou that those need to be synchronized. With ...

Re: Spam really increased

If the database server would be slow, then also all smtp frontend servers. Do you have a solution for this problem? There is no reason what so ever, why database lookups would be that slow. But if that's the problem. Like you're using some old junk as database server or indexes are missing etc. The...

Re: Spam really increased

There would be the possibility to create new domain names for this. Like trashmail1.net, trashmailN.net... Unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem for those unlimited/unlimited paying customers. Who really expect to have their email address constant even in future. ;( That's the reason why most ...
